Call for Papers


Dear Authors,

The Journal of Contemporary Studies (JCS) is an HEC-HJRS recognized Y-category journal. It is a double blind peer-reviewed, bi-annual research publication of National Defence University (NDU). JCS is now accepting original, unpublished articles and book reviews for the Winter 2022 issue till 30th September 2022. The Journal of Contemporary Studies is a premier publication of the Faculty of Contemporary Studies, National Defence University, and Islamabad. Articles with in-depth scholarly analysis, high academic standard and diverse policy perspectives will be valued. Papers must have a clearly defined methodology, duly supported

literature review and theoretical assumptions.


The Journal solicits academically grounded research articles dealing with contemporary issues in the field of:

Author’s Guidelines for the submission are:

  1. Manuscript submitted should be original and not submitted anywhere
  2. Once accepted for publishing after peer review, the author cannot withdraw the
  3. Papers should not be longer than 7000 words or less than 5500 words, with an abstract of about 150
  4. Single Author Contributions will be given preference (collaborative research manuscripts should not have more than 2 authors maximum).
  5. Similarity Index must not exceed 19% overall and 2% from a single
  6. Articles must be submitted along with Originality Declaration Form available for download on
  7. Book Reviews of recent books by scholars in their field may comprise 1100-1200 words, the author, the title, publisher, year and pages of the
